Motorola RAZR Ultra (RAZR+) durability check after 12 months

I have been using my Motorola RAZR 40 Ultra (RAZR+) for over 12 months. I am very happy with my first ever foldable smartphone. I use it a lot to create videos for my own YouTube channel and as my daily phone for work and leisure. I have decided to make this short update video about the screen quality and hinge durability. Hopefully it is useful in case you are also considering getting a Motorola RAZR phone and you’re worried about the quality over time.

Motorola RAZR Advanced Hinge Design for Longevity

The hinge is the backbone of any foldable phone, and Motorola has perfected it with the RAZR. This hinge is rated to endure up to 400,000 folds, according to Motorola’s rigorous testing. To put that into perspective, if you open and close the phone 100 times a day, the hinge could last over a decade. This smaller, sturdier hinge minimizes wear and tear, making it a reliable component for long-term use.

Motorola RAZR Crease Resistance and visibility vs Samsung Z Flip

In models like my own RAZR+ 2024, the crease is so subtle that it’s nearly imperceptible during normal use. When the screen is on, the crease often disappears entirely, offering a seamless viewing experience. Compared to competitors like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip, which still show a noticeable dip, the RAZR’s screen feels flatter and more polished. This durability doesn’t just enhance visuals—it also protects the display from cracking or developing dead pixels along the fold line, a common issue in less refined foldables.
