Foot rest and pedal cover for the Bolt EV / Ampera-e

I recently ordered a dead pedal foot rest cover for my 2019 Chevrolet Bolt EV / Opel & Vauxhall Ampera-e to protect the carpet. Here is a short demo video and a link to the cover I purchased on Amazon.

2. Alternative expensive solution: 3D MAXpider Floor Mats

Many people prefer the 3D MAXpider floorliner for the Bolt EV and Ampera-e. But I find it very expensive and purchased this cheaper AndyGo pedal cover instead.

How did you cover the unprotected carpet of the dead pedal where your foot rests in the car? Do you prefer a floor liner or a pedal cover like this one? Let me know in the comments how you fixed the unprotected carpet area and if it holds up over time. Especially if the carpet is now better protected. I will update this video in a few months to see if I still like this cover or not.
