Why you need to clean your car’s window seal

Cleaning your car’s window seals (also called weatherstripping or rubber gaskets around the doors, windows, and frameless glass) is a simple but often overlooked maintenance task that prevents bigger problems down the road.

These seals create a tight barrier between the glass/door and the body of the car. Over time, dirt, dust, road grime, pollen, salt, and moisture build up in the crevices and on the rubber surfaces—especially in the lower channels where the window sits when closed or in the channels the glass slides through.
