Is the Motorola RAZR foldable screen really long term durable and reliable?
The short answer is no foldable screen is as durable long-term as traditional rigid smartphone glass, but recent Motorola Razr generations have significantly closed the gap.
While mechanical hinge failure was common on early 2019/2020 models, modern Razrs (Razr 40 Ultra, Razr 50 Ultra / Razr+ series) feature refined teardrop hinges rated for over 200,000 to 400,000 folds. However, the internal flexible panel itself remains subject to specific wear patterns over 2 to 3 years of daily use.
My opinion after using a Motorola RAZR 40 Ultra for over 2 years
I have been using my Motorola RAZR 40 Ultra to film all my recent YouTube videos and now the screen has broken. I feel completely destroyed and sad about it because man… I love this phone and it has helped my grow this channel a lot. I’m wondering if this is a common quality issue with Motorola foldable RAZR smartphones in general or just bad luck after just over 2 years. I have taken exceptionally good care of my Motorola RAZR 40 Ultra, never dropped it and always carried it in a case and carefully opened and closed it.
