Cleaning & protecting my Tesla with Meguiar’s Ceramic Waterless

What if you are going on a winter road trip with your car and you can bring only one detailing product with you? Well that’s why in this video I want to show you why I believe Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Waterless Wash & Wax is potentially all you need on a road trip to protect your car. I have noticed that It offers great paint protection with its ceramic capabilities after a car hand wash. But it also is safe to apply by hand even if your car in the winter is not 100% thoroughly cleaned. This thanks to its extreme slickness and waterless wash feature. I find it extremely versatile that I can use it on many different surfaces on the outside of my car including paint, wheels, glass and trim. Here is an affiliate link to the product I purchased myself on Amazon for my own collection.

Join me as I try out this product on my brand new Tesla Model 3 Performance Ultra Red paint (and the brand) Meguiar’s for the very first time. Watch me react to cleaning paint on dirty door liners and glass.

Is a waterless spray wash and wax safe in winter?

Yes, waterless wash sprays are generally safe to use in winter, but with some important caveats depending on temperature, product formulation, and how you apply it. Here’s a clear breakdown:

When It’s Safe

  • Above freezing (32°F / 0°C or warmer): Most waterless washes work fine. They contain lubricants and cleaners that lift dirt without needing rinsing.
  • High-quality products are designed to evaporate cleanly and leave no residue.
  • Light dust/dirt only — ideal for winter when you can’t hose off the car.

When It’s Risky

ConditionRisk
Below freezingThe spray can freeze on contact, causing micro-scratches or ice spots.
Heavy road salt/mudWaterless sprays can’t fully remove thick grime — you risk grinding salt into paint.
Frozen panelsApplying liquid to ice/snow can create ice layers under the product.
